Where is Kalahari Resort Round Rock?
It’s located in Round Rock, near Austin, only a 3.5-hour drive from Plano.

How do you get to Kalahari?
Allow at least 3.5 hours to get there at a minimum, but factor in the extra driving time of up to 4 hours with some traffic.
Kalahari Resort Round Rockis locatedon U.S. 79 across from the Dell Diamond and Old Settlers Park and is best accessed by driving via the I-35 South.
What’s the concept of Kalahari Round Rock?
It’s a fun African-themed resort that recently opened in November 2020.
It has everything under one roof, a little like Great Wolf Lodge. We think it’s like a “Cruise ship on land”.
It has a Water Park plus an Adventure Park, which offers Laser Tag, Escape Rooms, Arcade Games, Rides, Rock Climbing, Ropes Course, Bowling, and more, these are additional charges but there are all-inclusive wristband options.

Our best tips to enjoy the Water Park at Kalahari Resort Round Rock
Check-in and Check-out times at the Kalahari Resort
Check-in timebegins at 4:00 pm.However, you can pre-register to arrive as early as 10 AM. You can start using the Waterpark then. They send a text to you when your room is ready after 4:00 PM.
Be sure to pack a separate Waterpark-specific bag to make changing easy.
Check-out isat 11:00 am. After you have checked out, you can stay for the day and enjoy the Waterpark till it closes.
The water park is perfect for kids 10-12 and under, older kids will enjoy the adventure park
There are outside pools open in the summer months only with life vests to use. You can also rent a cabana at the water park, some of them even have their hot tubs!
They provide towels, but you do have to give your room number and return them at the end of the day or you will be charged, you can swap out for dry towels as many times as you like
Remember, some wet kiddos can get a chill walking to and from the waterpark and the room, even if it’s all inside. Pro Tip: Bring robes for the short walk.
Day passes to the water park are available on a limited basis if you want to stay elsewhere but you need to remember that no outside coolers or food or drink are allowed into the water park, so be prepared to buy food, snacks, and drinks.
When planning your visit, we think you should allow for 2 days at the water park at a minimum, plus there is lots more to do in the resort
You have access to the waterpark on the day you check in and the day you check out, bring a water park bag as the hotel will not hold your bags
Not forgetting your “Mom” time, they also have a day spa, which is amazing and you can purchase a day pass if you don’t want to book a treatment
How much money does it cost to go to Kalahari Resort Round Rock?
Allow for rates starting at $419 per night for a standard queen room for 2 adults, 2 kids. Remember, this includes the waterpark in the fee but does not include the resort fee and taxes.
The Resort Fee is a mandatory daily feeof $29.99to cover the costs associated with providing the highest level of amenities for our guests. Included in this fee are Included waterpark access during your stay.

Is Kalahari Resort Round Rock All Inclusive?
No, it is not all-inclusive in the traditional way, as in, you have to purchase your own food and drinks while at the resort.

Which room do we recommend?
It depends on your budget, but we love all of the great room options which sleep anywhere from 2 – 12 guests
If you have a large family, book early to secure 3-5+ Sleeping rooms that provide flexible sleeping arrangements.
All the rooms contain – mini-refrigerator, microwave – so take snacks, drinks, and breakfast options which you can eat in your room if you’d like to save money.
What rooms can you stay in at Kalahari?
You can do a king suite, with a king bed, a queen-size sofa sleeper, and a bathroom (you can rent this with an adjoining hospitality suite). A hospitality suite has two queen murphy beds, a dining table, and a wet bar.
They also have king bunk suites with mural walls for young kids to have a fun sleepover among the animals!
When we recently stayed, we chose a 2 bed 2 bath living room suite and it was probably the best set up hotel room our family has ever stayed in, in terms of layout and having 2 bathrooms was so helpful!
You can also book a double queen sofa with a queen-size sofa sleeper and 2 bedroom/2 bathroom living room suite or the presidential 3 bedroom suite with 2 rooms with queen beds, living room with a queen-size sleeper sofa, balcony, wet bar, dining area, fireplace and a master bedroom with a king-size bed!
What eating options do you have at the Kalahari Resort Round Rock?
There are some great dining options – everything from poolside snacks to a signature steakhouse.
You can also eat at Mexican or Italian restaurants, or try their buffet breakfast restaurant. They also have a coffee shop, marketplace, and an ice cream store.
Our best Tips and Tricks to have a great stay at the Kalahari Resorts
There is an info number you can text for restaurant bookings and general questions – this was so helpful and we used this to make our reservations for meals and day spa
There is a Walmart about 10-minute drive away from the Kalahari resort if you forget anything or want to grab snacks and drinks for your room!
Other things to do in Round Rock – go to Round Rock donuts (there is a limited selection available at the resort), see the Round Rock, go outlet shopping and make sure you go and see the bats.
